Description
100% Kona, Mamalohoa Estate
This Estate premium coffee is 100% Extra Fancy Grade Kona while most Kona blends contain only 10% Kona coffee. Only coffee from the Kona Districts can be described as “Kona”. The ideal weather conditions combined with porous, mineral-rich volcanic soil create wonderfully symbiotic coffee growing conditions.

Single Origin Coffee
As the name suggests, it means that a coffee has originated from a specific location or region. In some cases, a single origin can be from a single small farm or micro-lot consisting of no more than a couple hundred trees. For a coffee roaster, Single Origin coffees are the gems, the Kobe beef, the all-star, the Monet, of coffees. Their nuances are more pronounced and the flavor profiles are more complex.

For a coffee lover, such as yourself, a Single Origin coffee is a promise of something unique. The experience of drinking a Single Origin coffee is a journey and exploration of a different part of the world. Do you want to travel to Kenya in the Kirinyago District, or how about the Blue Mountain region in Jamaica? Single Origin coffee. Through a Single Origin cup of coffee you will develop an appreciation for the artistry needed to grow a truly unique coffee.

ORIGIN HISTORY
Kona coffee is cultivated on the slopes of Hualalai and Mauna Loa in the North and South Kona Districts of the Big Island of Hawaii. Blooming in February and March the small white flowers known as “Kona snow” cover the trees. By April the green fruit emerges and by late August the red ripe cherries are ready to be harvested.

Hawaii is the only state in the United States suitable to grow coffee. Based on small volume produced and US labor, makes Kona one of the more expensive coffees.  Our Kona Estate coffee is 100% Extra Fancy grade and most Kona blends contain only 10% Kona coffee. The ideal weather conditions combined with porous, mineral-rich volcanic soil create wonderfully symbiotic coffee growing conditions.

Very Good CoffeeReview by Greg

I thought this coffee had very good flavor, almost a buttery taste. Might be too light a roast for some, such as my wife. (Posted on 8/16/2017)
