For a coffee roaster, Single Origin coffees are the gems, the Kobe beef, the all-star, the Monet, of coffees. Their nuances are more pronounced and the flavor profiles are more complex.

ORIGIN HISTORY
Clydesdale Estate was founded in the late 1700s by Dr. Colin McClarty, a British national who came to Jamaica for what he thought would be a short visit but fell in love with the country and decided to stay. It was one of the first estates to plant coffee commercially in Jamaica. Following Dr. McClarty’s example and realizing the excellent quality coffee produced in this area, other farmers ventured into coffee production in the vicinity of Clydesdale Estate.

It is from these beginnings that the Clydesdale coffee region evolved. Clydesdale Estate Coffee was first exported in the late 1700’s and because of the exceptional quality of the beans, it has remained an important coffee growing region since.

After a trip to Jamaica a few years ago I ran out of the stash I brought back, When I found it here I ordered it not expecting it to be as good. WRONG! It is just like the coffee I bought in Jamaica. A little expensive but worth every penny. Treat yourself, buy for Christmas and Birthday gifts or whatever. You owe it to yourself to try this! (Posted on 8/27/2016)

Because of its reputation I've always wanted to try Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, so when I saw Rogers Family was offering this coffee I ordered a bag right away. After it was delivered and I first opened the bag I noticed that the beans were very fresh and smelled wonderful.

My opinion: This is great coffee! It has a very nice, smooth flavor. It reminds me of the Central American single origin coffees I normally order, but it has more depth, if that makes sense. I can taste the nuttiness and it's a pleasant flavor.

I'm halfway through my first bag and I've already ordered another. (Posted on 8/21/2014)
