The Best Coffee! -- 100% Arabica Coffee Beans, Shade-Grown at High Altitudes on Bio-Diverse Farms
Best Coffee
Ours was voted "Best Coffee" by Real Simple Magazine, and many people are saying it's the best coffee they've ever had. Why is this?
At every stage of the coffee life cycle, we strive to attain the highest level of quality possible. Because we grow, import, and roast our own coffee, we can bypass the middlemen and pass the savings on to you. That's why we can provide such high quality coffee at such great prices.
All of the coffee we grow and buy is 100% arabica grown under a canopy of rainforest-preserving shade trees at an elevation over 3000 ft. Coffee that's high grown under a shade canopy produces fewer, but more flavorful, coffee cherries.
As opposed to "full sun" coffee cherries, the cherries of shade-grown coffee develop more slowly and with more intensity. Farmers also get a higher price premium for their certified organic and shade-grown coffee, so they take better care of their trees and harvest them with more care. Shade grown and organic farming methods make healthier soil, prevent water contamination and provide habitat for dozens of species of migratory birds.
Our coffee is also really delicious because we care for farmers and the farming communties from which we buy our coffee. Here at the Rogers Family Company coffee roasters, we make partners for the long term with growers whether he is a member of a coop in Rwanda or a large farmer in Mexico. Farmers take better care of their farms when they have a high fixed price to count on. Through our fair, direct trade "Community Aid" program, we're breaking the cycle of poverty in villages around the world and improving coffee quality at the same time.
Unique among coffee companies, we also grow our own coffee in Panama and Mexico. Read more about our own organic coffee farms and how we rehabilitated trampled cattle grazing lands into a bio-diverse, organic coffee farm.
There are many other ways that affect the quality of coffee, and where we stand out from other coffee companies:
