To obtain organic coffee certification, coffee farmers must use only natural, non-toxic fertilizers and pest management techniques on their farms. Such natural fertilizers include rich compost created via the worm composting programs we've implemented around the world on our farms and our partner farms. These techniques create a healthier environment for migratory birds and native species which make their homes on the farms as well as a healthier environment and water supply for the local villages.
Here are the certificates you'll find on our organic coffee bags.
USDA Organic.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture, organic certificate verifies that the
product was produced using organic production and handling standards, and is at least 95 percent organic. Our Organic Coffee Company brand and
our San Francisco Bay Rainforest Blend 3lb Bag are 100% organic coffee. Our special Private Reserve Finca Santa Barbara coffee is 100% organic coffee from one of our own coffee farms in Panama.
OCIA Organic.
The USDA Organic certificate is allowed based on registration with an Organic
certification 3rd party. We use OCIA as our certifying 3rd party.
We've been using your wonderful coffee at our bed and breakfast for years and guests always say how good it is and what brand is it, etc. Our foreign visitors often comment that it's the best coffee they've had in the US, as most American coffee is weak! We use two parts French to one part Columbian and it sure isn't weak. It's great! Thanks for such a good product.
We tried your coffee a year ago, and that was the end of a long search for coffee that is always good. We tried them all and your SF Bay Organic is simply the best. Thank you for producing a great product at a fair price.
